Dr. Val Vigil is a dedicated emergency medicine physician passionate about making an immediate difference in people’s lives. She earned her Bachelor of Science from New Mexico State University, then worked for a year at the Grand Canyon for one year as a wildlife biologist before attending medical school at the University of Iowa. Dr. Vigil had a unique path to training, including an internship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and a few years with General Surgery at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, before finding her perfect fit with an emergency medicine residency at Stanford University. Her journey to emergency medicine was influenced by her early experiences assisting her father on medical missions and her desire to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Dr. Vigil and her husband, who is also an emergency medicine physician, are proud parents of two children and share their home with several dogs, chickens, a turtle, several frogs and other wayward animals who stop by.
