Natividad Medical Center announces appointment of Chief Nursing Officer

SALINAS, CA (January 13, 2016) — Natividad Medical Center (NMC) announced the appointment of Nancy A. Buscher, DNP, RN as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) effective December 28, 2015. Buscher has served as Interim CNO for the past two years.

A native of Michigan, Buscher received her doctorate in Nursing Leadership from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. She also received a master’s degree in Nursing Administration from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor society for nursing and the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Buscher is nationally certified in advanced nursing administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Prior to Natividad, Buscher served for thirteen years as CNO/Vice President of Patient Care at Three Rivers Health in Three Rivers, Michigan. She was Interim Director of Telemetry and IMCU at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, and Interim Director of multiple units at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California. Buscher was also a member of the Adjunct Faculty in the Doctorate of Healthcare Administration at the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona for almost five years. Buscher is a past President and District Director of the Michigan Organization of Nurse Executives.
