Natividad Medical Center Employee Artwork on Display

  • May 2, 2016

SALINAS, CA. (May 2, 2016) — The Natividad Medical Foundation (NMF) Annual Donor & 2016 Hero Award celebration included the unveiling at Natividad Medical Center (NMC) of the employee art exhibition, “Colors of Monterey County.”

NMC’s first employee art exhibit will be on display for a year on the first-floor corridor outside the Human Resources office. The display is sponsored by the Arts Council for Monterey County and the Natividad Medical Foundation through its Art for Better Health program.

The exhibition was open to contributions from all current hospital staff, i.e. employees, physicians, allied health professionals and volunteers who work at the hospital with the goal to help contribute to a calm and healing environment for all patients, visitors and staff.  NMC employees selected to be part of the exhibition were Lisa Hathaway, Jeanne Brady, Ronald Delena, Thuan Flood, Michael Gibson, Christopher Nicholas, Nicolaza Placencia and Anna Saucedo.  NMF Healing Art Committee members — Maria Boisvert, Kirk Kennedy, Andrea Rosenberg, Howard Jones, Jose Ortiz, and Wally Sayles — were instrumental in the development of the exhibition.

The NMF’s Art for Better Health program brings together donors, patients and artists to encourage healing through art. Donors and local artists have transformed a generic hospital setting into one that welcomes the community by celebrating the people, the culture, and the spirit of our community.
